Another of my early photos. Once again, depth-of-field is a problem – especially with close-ups I’m finding. I took a heap of photos over the first couple of days and then went and started studying some photography basics to learn how to more effectively deal with stuff like this. I also had to read the user manual for the camera to learn how to adjust all the settings correctly (there’s so many things this camera can do – you almost need a degree to use it!)
Anyway – we have a large family of skinks living on, around, or under our front steps. Every time we walk in or out, we see them sunning themselves on the bricks and scurrying off to hide when we come along.
This one sat still long enough for me to take a couple of photos. At this point I was still experimenting with some of the file format settings and hadn’t got to playing with depth-of-field yet.
