Everything in Wellington is focussed on the third and final chapter of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Return of the King, which has it’s world premiere here on Monday night.
All the stars are in town, there are posters and decorations everywhere, quite a buzz in the air really. Everyone is quite excited by the whole thing – there is even a parade on and festivals and everything.
I even saw Ernie Dingo (or as they say here in NZ, Irnie Dungo), wandering down the street the other day.
Tickets to the premiere went on sale the other day, and apparently were sold out in a matter of hours – and it’s being shown in literally dozens of cinemas simultaneously, in addition to the main cinema, The Embassy.
I’m almost disappointed to be going home tomorrow – it would be nice to stick around for the premiere and take in all the excitement. I might even be able to have some fush and chups with Frudu and Gindulf.
