Piano Man

Friday 27th May, 2005 Leave a Comment

Well I was sitting around feeling sorry for myself this morning – I had realised there were some of my CDs and DVDs in the laptop bag that got stolen a couple of weeks back – and it really depressed me.

Then I got a call from a courier company to tell me that they had a piano waiting for me and when could they deliver it. Yay – my mood lightened instantly thinking that they would deliver it this afternoon and I would have the weekend to play with it.

Then he said he didn’t have anyone available to deliver this afternoon – and it would have to wait until next week. In fact the next time I was going to be around for them to deliver it was next Thursday – which I think would depress me all weekend and most of next week to know that it was almost here, but I still had to wait.

I actually ordered the piano on my birthday last month – kind of a birthday present to myself (and from my wife), but they had run out of stock and had to ship some more out from Japan. So I’ve been waiting for them to arrive – and given it was due about 2 weeks ago, was starting to get a bit impatient.

Then the courier guy told me to hangon and asked one of his drivers if he would do a special run out to Artarmon to deliver it – he griped a bit but agreed so long as I would be there to help him carry it in (his normal partner for deliveries had gone home early) – I promised them anything they need so long as they deliver today. No problems !

So, I’m expecting him out here sometime between 1pm and 2pm this arvo – yay.

This is what I’ve ordered: Roland HP107 Digital Piano … (click the image below for a larger image):

I bought it online from Musicians Warehouse – the online division of Allans Music (one of Australia’s biggest music retailers) … and it was quite significantly cheaper buying online that it is through a store.

So, my mood today has gone from really low to really high. I can’t wait !
