One of the most useful tools we use at work is VMware – virtual machine software that allows us to run up multiple demonstration environments of different versions of software and swap them with our colleagues, business partners and customers – regardless of underlying operating system !
On the VMware website, they now have a description of What’s new in Version 5 of VMware Workstation … looks like some pretty impressive new options that will help us a lot.
Things like: “Multiple Snapshot Support”, “Virtual Machine Teams”, and “Linked Clones” should all come in useful I think.
Now all we need to do is convince Lenovo (the new owner of IBM PC Company) to start building support for 4GB RAM into the next generation of ThinkPads so we can really use VMware to it’s fullest !!
