Internoded again ?

Monday 1st March, 2004 Leave a Comment

If you were at all considering moving to ADSL, Internode have just revamped their entire ADSL offering plans – with heaps of new features. Check out the new Internode ADSL plans.

For as little as $29.95 a month on the starter plan PADSL-256-Starter (I don’t think this is a good plan – they are only offering it to compete with Telstra) – although it’s a good place to start if you are unsure of how much you will use. There are potential excess fees if you go over the 300MB a month limit (which I think most people will) – but Internode have capped these excess fees at $30 maximum and it slows the link to a slow dialup speed after you get to 500MB download without charging you any more.

I have moved friends of mine over to the $49.95 a month PADSL-256-Unlimited-Red plan which gives them a 256k/64k link and 12GB a month download (I’ve never used more than about 6.5GB in one month myself – and that was trying hard !!!) and if they do go over that limit, it will slow the link down to dialup modem speeds but keep running with no additional costs – means they know exactly how much it is going to cost every month – unlike when they were with Telstra and were paying $55 a month plus over $200 a month in excess usage fees !!!

I just moved myself to the $109.95 a month PADSL-1500-Unlimited-Green plan which is 1500k/256k with 32GB (!!!!!) a month download allowance. I can’t imagine what I’d need to download to use 32GB worth, but it basically means I don’t have to worry about my usage any more.

Actually, this does mean that I can download any software I need to use at work for demos and such without needing to go into the office. Some of our software is up to 20GB worth of download – and I can now download that (would take an entire weekend) without even coming close to going over my limits.

Yipee.
