US Day 32: Orlando – Ft Lauderdale, FLL-LAX

Orlando – Ft Lauderdale, FLL-LAX

Got up early, finished packing, hit the road just after 10am, headed east from Walt Disney World / Orlando, and then south along the I-95. Got in to Ft Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport at around 2:30pm. Flight was delayed a bit, so had a 90 minute wait in the departure lounge, but they had free wireless internet, so I was happy :D

Flight from FLL – LAX was uneventful (although rather boring … and 5.5 hours is way too long to be stuck on a plane in cattle class !).

Got into LAX around 7:30pm local time, hopped the Hertz bus and picked up our car (our 6th car for the trip !!), a Ford Taurus … typical American car – horrible to drive … but it did the job and it was relatively cheap. Drove out to the Hollywood district to our hotel – a Holiday in a block and a half from Hollywood Boulevard.

Watched a bit of TV and then crashed pretty early … had been a long day !!
