I, too, prefer photographing nature, scenery and buildings but there are times when people get in the way. I was particularly aware of the danger of photographing people in Nepal. One's shutter finger gets jittery when there are machine gun toting teenagers masquerading as soldiers or police only metres away from your camera. It makes one rather selective in one's subject matter. I share your concerns to some degree – it depends on the situation, circumstances and subject matter.
