Paddlesteamer on the River Murray - Dec 1998
I took this photo of a paddlesteamer on the Murray while on a river cruise onboard another paddlesteamer - the Pyap, out of Swan Hill.

Paddlesteamer Pyap - Swan Hill - Dec 1998

Paddlesteamer Pyap - Swan Hill - Dec 1998
Leanne officially moved to Sydney after Christmas in 1998 (I flew back for Christmas, which we spent with family, before driving with her back to Sydney).
We followed the Murray River from Mildura through to Albury, along the way stopping at Swan Hill.

Sydney Opera House - Dec 1998

Sydney Opera House - Dec 1998
Sydney Opera House as seen from the walkway across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I was living in Sydney at this point, but Leanne had been finishing up her job in Adelaide. She came over for a holiday in December.

Icebergs in Adelaide ? Dec 1998

Icebergs in Adelaide ? Dec 1998
We bought our first home in Jan 1998, and lived in it for only 9 months before I was offered a job in Sydney. Leanne’s sister had already been living here for a while, so it was a good opportunity to be closer to her - and Leanne had no [...]

Don’t feed the wildlife - Renmark - July 1998

Don’t feed the wildlife - Renmark - July 1998
This is why people should be discouraged from feeding local wildlife … Pelicans are quite big and can get quite aggressive (and scare young children!).

Noisy Neighbours - Renmark - July 1998

Noisy Neighbours - Renmark - July 1998

Wedding Day - June 1994
The morning of the wedding, my groomsmen met me at our unit for lunch before we headed off to the ceremony together.
Although you (deliberately) can’t see them in any of the wedding photos, we all wore cartoon socks - I’m on the left wearing the Marvin the Martian socks, then [...]

Olympic Dam Copper Refinery - Feb 1994

Olympic Dam copper refinery - Feb 1994
This is part of the copper refinery at the Olympic Dam mine site - the bright yellow substance is not “yellow cake” as many tourists are prone to believe … it is sulphur, used to make sulphuric acid, which is created on-site for use in the refining process. Most [...]

Olympic Dam Whenan Mine Shaft

Olympic Dam Whenan Mine Shaft
The first mine shaft at the Olympic Dam Uranium/Copper mine in South Australia.
The Whenan Shaft was completed in 1982, and is used to bring crushed ore up to the surface, where it is transported several kilometres overland via conveyor belt to the processing plant.
There has since been at least [...]
