ZooBeat updates

I’ve done some software upgrades and added a heap of new features to my ZooBeat Forums, including a new integrated photo gallery, plus RSS feeds of zoo news from a variety of sources.

If you enjoy zoos, or are interested in animal conservation, have a look at ZooBeat :: The News on Zoos.

New theme and layout

I’ve put together a new theme and layout for my blog.

I hope to include more photos from my rather sizable collection (over 14,000 at last count), in my Photo Gallery and also here in my blog.

Trevor’s Birding, Travels, Writing

My father writes three blogs:

The birding and travel blogs have a lot of photos in them – more of which can be seen in Dad’s area of our Photo Gallery

I’ve recently updated the layout and design of all three blogs … there’s still a bit of work to be done, but I’m pretty happy with how the new layout works. The photos look great too.

Mallee Native Plants blog redesign

My mother writes a blog: Mallee Native Plants … which I set up and host for her.

I recently updated the design of the blog to give it a more unique feel (it was originally based on my own blog template, so looked a lot like mine).

I stole some of my mother’s photos out of the Photo Gallery and made a montage across the top of the page, which I think looks quite good. Apparently mum likes it too, but she wants to change some of the flowers in the photo – I just randomly chose some that I thought looked good … but she wants it a bit more themed – that’s not a problem, was pretty easy to put it together.

I’m happy with how it turned out … hopefully it’s a bit cleaner and easier to navigate.

I really like what my mum is doing with the blog … half the stuff she writes I don’t understand (it’s full of plant jargon and scientific names for species), but then, she says the same thing about my blogs – full of technical jargon she doesn’t understand. Still, a lot of it is quite interesting, and I’m starting to understand a bit more about what my mum does out in her nursery all day! The photos are great too – very colourful.

ADSL2+ Yipeee

Got this email today:

This email is to inform you that your ADSL service … will be migrated to an Internode DSLAM port starting on 14/09/2006.

That is fantastic … I’ve been waiting nearly 2 years for ADSL2+

It will be interesting to see how fast my connection is … I’m less than 1km from the exchange I believe. I’d be happy with anything over 16Mbps.

Life is wonderful.

Thankyou Internode
