Adelaide Road Trip 2009 – Day 18
We had planned to head down to Adelaide this morning to visit Leanne’s cousin and their son, but he became ill and the doctor had recommended he stay away from other children for a while, so that got cancelled.
Instead, we headed down to Adelaide to have lunch with some friends of ours.
After heading back to to Mt Barker for a few hours, we drove back down to Belair to have dinner with some other friends of ours.
We ended up getting home quite late (by Andres’s standards), but he seemed to cope quite well with the busy day and late night. He had plenty of sleep the day before and we plan on giving him plenty of sleep tomorrow to catch up, so hopefully he will be okay.
Adelaide Road Trip 2009 – Day 17
Quiet day today, I spent most of the day catching up with some work. Not much else to report!
Adelaide Road Trip 2009 – Day 16
Another quiet day today – we had the place to ourselves for most of the day while Leanne’s parents’ took care of some business down in Adelaide.
In the evening, Leanne and I went out for dinner and a movie together – leaving Andres with his grandparents to put to bed, which didn’t cause too many dramas apparently. Dinner was at a local pizza and pasta restaurant and then we went to see the movie Avatar at the local cinema complex, which we both enjoyed.
Adelaide Road Trip 2009 – Day 15
Another extended family gathering today – our third for the trip so far. This one was my father’s family – although only around half of the family were there … the rest generally live too far away to come for afternoon tea.
We had a lovely drive through the Adelaide Hills to get there, via Nairne, Woodside, Lobethal, Gumeracha – not the fastest route, but by far the most scenic.
It was a fairly late night to get home for Andres, especially with no afternoon sleep (other than a short nap in the car on the way there) – but he did really well and went to sleep okay once we got home.
Adelaide Road Trip 2009 – Day 14
We had our second extended family gathering today. This time is was Leanne’s mother’s family and we had an afternoon-tea picnic in Hazelwood Park, Burnside – down in Adelaide.
The weather was nice – warm, but not too hot in the shade. Andres got to feed the ducks, but was a bit confused as to why we were throwing good bread away (he loves eating bread!).
